Jordanelle Triathlon

This past week Jason competed in the Jordanelle Tri. It was located in Heber . This was his third triathlon but first Olympic distance. In the Olympic you do a mile swim, 26 mile bike ride and about a 5.7 mile run. Jason did very well taking first in his age group and 10th overall. He sure is an iron man. A few days before the triathlon we went up to Deer Creek reservoir so he could try out his new batman suit.

Behind Jason all of the athletes are setting up their transition zones.
Jason's olympic group went first. Jason said people kept grabbing his ankles.

Jason running up from the swim.

Look at those glutes.

These little kids loved to give the athletes high fives as they ran by.

Jason only had one lap to go. At this point he was dying of thirst, so it was a good thing this girl had some water.

He got first in his age group. You can tell he loved being on the podium.

Bikes and More

We are finally settled in our new basement apartment. This is the first unfurnished apartment we've lived in so we had lots of things to buy.

We've gone on several rides on the South Fork of Provo Canyon. It's always nice to get away up into the mountains. Andrea was bomin' it down on the way back. She got so far ahead of me I had to zoom to like 3.0x (hence the fuzzy image).

Crusin' down South Fork.

This is harder than it looks.

Bridal Veil falls.

This is Andrea's grandma, Betty, and her husband Gordon. We don't see them too often, but we wish we did. They are hilarious together.

Andrea's parents were in town for a funeral. It was kind of a bitter-sweet experience. Great to see them, but sad for the passing of a relative.

The view from a field close to our house.

At Grandma's house a few weeks back. Grandma is awesome.

P.S. Pics from the triathlon to come shortly.
