The Garden Groweth
We've been enjoying the garden this year. This picture is a little outdated now, but we've had tons of lettuce, beans, zucchini, cucumber, and basil. Just waiting on the tomatoes and peppers now.
Hunter has become the master weeder. It took him a while to learn what not to pull, but once he got the hang of it, he's easily pulled 50+ weeds all by himself.
Pesto pizza. Better than 360 Pizzeria.
Homegrown pesto, beans, and zucchini.
The hat helps keep him cool when he's weeding.

Behold the Garden
It's been about 30 days since we posted a picture of our garden. During those 30 days, Hunter has pulled a few plants, walked on a few other ones, and thrown the ball at others, but we still have life. The garden is coming along nicely, and we've already harvested about 5 heads of lettuce.
(Note to self: next year, use starts for peppers and tomatoes. They are taking forever to grow.)

Fumi II
Just got back from a spectacular 3-day family reunion in Lincoln City, OR. We had perfect weather, the location was stellar, and there were no (major) injuries.
More images to come (not enough time tonight)...

We have life!
We still have a ways to go before we don't have to buy groceries, but this little garden is well on its way. We've got lettuce, peppers (three kinds), beans, basil, tomatoes, cucumber, zucchini, and squash.

A Different Perspective
Andrea took some great shots of Hailey, eye level. It was interesting to look at everything from her vantage point. It makes you appreciate the view from up above.

Papa's Touch
Dad isn't necessarily known for having soft hands. But man does he have the touch with Hunter. Hunter rarely sits still, but when he's getting a little love from Papa, he will sit there forever (even through an entire baptism!).

Self Feeding = Freedom
Hailey is improving her dexterity. She's now able to hold the bottle on her own. That means 15-20 minutes of free time. With small children, that's an eternity.

Chapstick
Hunter loves chapstick. He'll remove the cap, quickly swipe his lips, and then put the cap back on. I guess he's just keeping 'em smooth for the ladies.

Color Spash
We came across a new app recently called Color Splash. It allows you to remove all the color from an image and then add the color back by swiping over different parts of the image.
You could say that we got carried away for a few hours.

The Haircut
Recently, Hunter's locks were getting out of control. They were so long, he could twirl a strand of hair with his finger and leave it in a knot.
We knew giving him a hair cut would be rough, but we didn't know just how rough.
Phase 1: back-side.
Phase 2: still working on the back-side (it took forever).
Phase 3: try not to cut off Hunter's fingers (we wouldn't let go of his hair).
Phase 5: sideburns.
Phase 6: doughnut may be gone, but Curious George had him on the edge of his seat.
Let the games begin...
Phase 1: back-side.
Phase 2: still working on the back-side (it took forever).
Phase 3: try not to cut off Hunter's fingers (we wouldn't let go of his hair).
Phase 4: chocolate binky. Andrea had a beautiful idea and remembered our neighbor had just given us 6 chocolate doughnuts the day before. To calm him down, we let him dip it in the chocolate frosting until every last spec of frosting was devoured. He LOVED it.
Phase 5: sideburns.
Phase 6: doughnut may be gone, but Curious George had him on the edge of his seat.
The finished product. I won't say it's the best haircut I've ever given, but it was probably the most memorable.

Hunter vs. Hailey
Hunter and Hailey are learning to play together. It's fun watching them interact. It's even more fun when Hailey bullies Hunter (sometimes he even cries).
Hunter: "Hailey, you're the best."
Hunter: "Hey Hailey, that kind of hurts."
Hailey: "Oh come on, I'm just trying to have a little fun."
Hunter: "Oh yeah, well how is THAT for a little fun."
Hailey: "Do you really want to start what you can't finish?"
Hunter: "Alright, I'm out of here."
Hailey: "Sweet victory."

The Mower
Andrea started this game with Hunter a few weeks back. He picks up the phone and Andrea pretends to be Papa. They go down the list of everything they need to mow Papa's lawn.
My personal favorite: "wheel barrow".

All Natural
This boy would run around shirtless all day if we let him. He also makes sure to bring his sunglasses when he goes outside. Must be a grandson of an eye doctor or something.

Good Morning Sunshine
This is a typical morning at 6:00 am. No screaming, no crying. She just waits patiently for us to go and get her. She definitely takes after Andrea (and definitely does not take after her older brother).

Little Missionary
Fits like a charm. Funny to think that someday this little guy is going to fit in this coat. If he's lucky, his daddy will save it for him.

Counting to 10
Hunter is now counting to 10. This probably isn't interesting to anyone else, but to his parents, this is big time!
(Another neat fact: he can navigate his way on my iPhone and even exchange dialogue with Siri.)

The bum drop
Hunter and his buddy, Ethan, decided that bum drops were part of the agenda this weekend. I don't know how this is even physically possible.

This is not a stuffed animal...
We visited a friend from church the other day and were attacked by the cutest dog I've ever seen. I can't remember the name of the breed, but all I know is that if we ever get a dog, this is the kind we're getting. He was so cuddly and quiet the whole time. He looks like a pup, but he's actually 11 years old (human years).
